diy Bridal Bouquet

Tiffany, on September 23, 2019 at 11:28 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 20
Oh boy. So I decided I would do artificial flowers for my wedding! I work at Hobby Lobby so I decided to take advantage of my employee discount and the 50% floral stem and bushes sale. I bought flowers for my bridal bouquet--cost just under $60!

I was too excited to wait. At first I couldn't find wire cutters. Then I spent over an hour removing extra leaves and separating the bushes into stems. Oh boy the arranging part was special. It took many many tries to get something I really liked!

Then I realized the floral tape we had was old and wouldn't stick. So I have washi tape on it for right now, haha. Some of the stems are SO thick, I still haven't managed to trim all of them.

I used cream colored hydrangeas, ivory ranunculus, lamb's ear, eucalyptus, and small coral ranunculus. (I probably didn't spell some of those right)

Thank you Smiley heart I haven't actually, so I was really nervous. It took a while to figure out what I was doing. It looked very strange the first few tries. I had too many flowers originally and I had all the greenery on the outside instead of mixed in. My mom kept saying it didn't look quite right. I agreed, it looked kind of lopsided. So i looked at a few more inspiration pictures on pinterest and finally got this result.

That's awesome! I love their flower selection. I work in the fabric department but I'm usually in charge of helping recover/straightening things in the floral and wedding sections. So I've been getting lots of time every night to look through and decide what I wanted, haha!

Thank you! the coral ranunculus were an after thought. I had thought that I wanted just the white and green, but then I saw those cute blossoms and thought it would be a good pop of color.

Thank you! It's one of my favorites too. It definitely is convenient to work at Hobby Lobby while I'm wedding planning. Although I actually havent bought too much stuff from there yet, haha.

I do too! I'd known I wanted eucalyptus leaves, and when I was researching inspiration pictures that's when I noticed the lamb's ear for the first time! I'd never heard of it. It really grew on me, so I decided to include it.

Beautiful!!! I love how you did it. Wow, even with your discount and the sale it still came out to around $60?

Yes it did! It was actually like $57 or something like that. I think that also includes one spool of ribbon I bought for a different project. I think I also ended up with way more flowers than I needed as well! I got at least two of everything, three of some so it added up quickly! But I should be able to use the left over for other floral crafts like boutineres and corsage or adding to the bridesmaids bouquet.
