I helped set up a wedding with ceiling drapery and it took FOREVER. To the point we got it done 20 mins before the ceremony, and still had to go get ready.

It takes forever and it costs more than you think.

Went to a wedding a couple years ago.. beautiful exposed posts in a rustic theme barn... it was baaaaad. They rushed through it and got frustrated. The bride said she underestimated the work.

It can be very difficult just to find enough fabric that is all the same to make a few panels. I DIYed a small three panel screen and it did not go well.

I thought of doing this because one venue we'd like draping done. However, honestly I'd rather pay someone to do it, than do it myself. I'm not spending my wedding day setting things up. Not gonna happen.

We looked into it and the lady was talking about rigging and all sorts of stuff. It's super expensive but I'd definitely talk to a professional.

I'm definitely paying someone to do that. I wouldn't try to take that on myself. It's only costing me $600 and it makes a huge difference at my venue.

Will the venue allow you to DIY? Or will they require professionals who are insured and experienced?

@GettingReady2Rumsey Ugh, it's $1200 for just the small backdrop instead of an arch here! I didn't even ask about behind the head table! $600 is a steal!
