diy Chapel Length Veil 😍

All right y'all grab a snack because this might be long and loaded with pictures 😂

So I posted previously that I wasn't sure what length veil I would like so I bought this LONG cathedral length veil with the intention on cutting it to the length that I prefer.
So I wanted to do an update on it because I know I'm not the only cheap ass bride out there that doesn't see the point in spending hundreds on a piece of tulle 😂
So I started out with the veil I bought for 12 bucks on Amazon (i wish i would have taken a better picture of it, but it is actually pretty good quality the lace at the bottom is obviously cut out and then sewn back on but you can't really tell from a distance)
First I placed the veil comb on my head about where I thought I wanted it and then marked where I wanted it cut, which in this case just happened to be right where the lace bit started.
Then I folded it in half and placed another veil that a friend gave me on top of it to get the general bell shape. I cut out along that line with a very sharp siccors making sure to make long cuts as to not get so many jagged edges. It wasn't perfect at first so I did have to do some cleaning up.
I think it turned out so well!! Is it a crazy transformation, no, but its exactly what I wanted! I tried it on with my dress and felt like such a bride ❀

If you're looking at doing something like this and have 12 bucks to spare I say go for it!! (I'm on my phone so I can't post the link to the veil at the moment but I can definitely post in the comments later if anyone is interested)

I can see what you mean about the lace from the pictures- nice job turning it into what you want! My mom suggested earlier that I just buy fabric and have my grandmother help me make a veil since she was a seamstress. I have heard so many positive experiences with cheap veils off Amazon I feel like that might be the way to go!
