Diy dancefloor???

Leticia, on November 30, 2016 at 3:22 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

I have been searching everywhere for dancefloor rental and the least expensive place I found is charging $18 per square and I'm thinking I need a 20x20 floor so that comes close to $600 since it will be on grass. I've been thinking about just making it myself, seems easy enough but I'm just worried about the whole set up and tear down process the day of. Anyone build their own dancefloor? What were the pros and cons?

Sounds like a big no to me. Just bite the bullet and rent one.

My daughter attended a totally DIY, tented wedding (as in, a majority of her friends were asked to come back the next morning, break the whole thing down, and clean up -- they weren't happy about it, considering it was a dry wedding with a lack of food). They did a DIY dance floor on the grass using wood tiles. It was separating all night -- not a good thing for those wearing heals.

Some things are doable, and some things aren't. This one isn't, unless you intend to get a huge piece of ugly plywood, which actually might work.

We are doing a DIY dance floor out of pallets and flat boards. We are screwing the top boards in so they do not come apart. We might stain the top boards prior to make it look a little more elegant. We do have our backyard venue from Thursday to Monday so it wont be rushed. We are also making lighting stands with buckets of cement and a long 2x 4 piece of wood. We are DIYing a lot of the wedding so when I ran across this I was really excited Smiley smile
