DIY escort cards

NatHam, on August 31, 2017 at 4:33 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

I need help with what everyone is doing or has done for escort cards. I would prefer to print them myself. Nothing crazy fancy since it is just a card to get them to their table and show the servers what food they are getting. My venue recommended doing a different color paper for each entrée. For example, ivory for chicken and grey for pork.. and so on.

Where did you buy the paper for your cards? I am also kinda confused the difference between escort and place cards.. I think mine will be used for both? My venue suggests only one that will be picked up during cocktail hour and the guests can place at their assigned table.

I want to make something like what is pictured. I do have an edge punch to create the look of the bottom! Smiley smile

Thanks in advance and I am open for suggestions

I bought card stock from Staples. I used it to make our invitations and I'm going to use it for the escort cards. The staples brand was under $20 for a whole pack.

@Kayla, how big of sheets did you get? Did you cut them?

I bought ivory card stock at Staples. You'll want a nice thickness but not too think to run through the printer. Something semi smooth too so the ink goes on nicely. This is a pic of mine. We did escort cards, some people took them and some didn't and just noted their seat. They are a flat card, a small hole punched and pinned to the moss in the frame.

Avery also makes tent cards and placecards for home computer use.

@NatHam11 Thanks! The moss is glued to a styrofoam sheet and then taped to the back of the frame and backed with cardboard. One of my DIY projects. My sister used the same frame for her wedding the year before for her seating chart (see here). The frame usually has a vintage watercolor in it and hangs in our parents living room.
