diy flower decor questions.

Sweekriti, on August 16, 2021 at 4:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 2 18

I have decided to go for DIY floral decor for my wedding. I know it is not going to be easy, I have so many questions. How many days before the wedding date should I order my flowers to have enough time to make the floral arrangements? More importantly, how should I store the flowers and arrangements so that they are fresh till the wedding day?

I did DIY centerpieces. My advice would be to keep them simple! A few different types of flowers but not too many different types or it gets harder to arrange. I ordered through Fifty Flowers and would highly recommend them. They had a recommended day that the flowers should arrive (my wedding was on a Friday and they recommended the sunflowers arrive on Monday of that week and the greens on Tuesday). As soon as they arrived I put them in water and in my cool dark basement and I was so impressed at how they turned out! We did the arrangements the day before the wedding (Thursday) and just stored them in vases at the venue. I didn't make the bouquets and wearable flowers though so I'm not sure about that!

Ditto! We used Fiftyflowers for my daughter's wedding as well for decor/centerpieces. They will let you know when to have flowers delivered and how to store them. They were amazing (the company and the flowers)! BEFORE PICTURE:

I was really happy with the prices too, especially compared to a florist. I got 8 arrangements worth of flowers (plus a little extra) for around $200. They do have a free consult with their flower experts you can do over the phone to figure out how many to order but the schedule never worked for me so I just did a lot of research about how many stems in a typical arrangement and then did the math to figure out roughly how many of each flower I needed.

Oh, that is great. I wish they also mentioned the quantity of flowers I will be needing for my arrangements 🙈. This would save a lot of time as everything about the wedding stressing me out and I am not able to manage my time well.
Thanks for your help Monica 😊.

DIY floral deco is a good idea, however, there is a suggestions that I think maybe you can choose some artificial flower to DIY, because the artificial flower is forever and now the flower craftsmanship is very advanced,It almost looks like a real plant. And I suggest that maybe you can find a artificial flower manufacturer to buy, it will save you money and the DIY more beautiful.

Not sure if you've had a chance to go on the Fiftyflowers.com website, but they also have affordable prearrangements (you just need vases, etc. from Dollar Store) if you're not sure about DIY. Otherwise their consultants can assist with quantity.

Actually in my culture artificial flowers for weddings are looked down upon. So I have to go with real flowers. Thanks for your suggestion 😊.

Yes, I went through their website. But there is no recommendation for the quantity of flowers according to my budget. Thanks 😊.

What about seasonal flowers? How will I get to know which flowers are available in the month of January on Fifty flowers. Or are the flowers there available during all time of the year? Does anyone know?

I think you are making this more difficult than it is. Go to Fifty Flowers and search for "flowers available in January". It will show what months of the year that flower is available. Then when you decide what flowers you want you call and speak with a consultant about recommended quantity.

I am getting flowers from fiftyflowers and sam’s club. Flower moxie is another diy floral website that has really great tutorials on how to take care of, prep, and arrange your diy florals. I recommend checking out their tutorials!
