diy flowers??

Hey everyone! Considering DIYing flowers for the big day. I know everyone says it can be a lot to take on but I have 9 bridesmaids and 11 groomsmen and the quotes i’ve gotten on just bouquets and boutonnières alone are outrageous. Our centerpieces are already provided by our venue and we’re using greenery for the ceremony or no flowers at all (January wedding). I was considering using silk flowers and doing a little at a time. I have more than enough time and I’m very creative and have access to lots of wine lol I already put together a sample bridal bouquet with bunches from Michael’s, maybe I can do smaller ones for bridesmaids? Anyone actually tackle this with silk flowers? I want to DIY with real flowers as a last resort if trying to use silk ones don’t work. HELP!

I used fake flowers from Hobby Lobby. In about 4 hours we did: bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 2 corsages, and I think 8 bouts. There were three of us working on them - one person was cutting the stems down, another was actually putting them together and the third was just kind of helping as needed. It's really not that hard once you get started. I think I spent about $450 on all of that, plus enough flowers for 20 centerpieces and a large arrangement for the arch.

I used artificial flowers from Hobby Lobby and made my bouquet as well as all of the bridesmaid bouquets and all of the boutonnieres. I got enough flowers for 6 bouquets and 6 boutonnieres for about $75 and it was a pretty fun project!

I am DIYing real flowers in October so I will report back how it goes..haha! I think if you can do silk bouts and bouquets, that will give you lots of time to practice and plenty of time to do it beforehand.

I'm doing my own using a mix of sola wood and paper. Haven't done them yet, so fingers crossed they turn out ok!

It's definitely possible since you have so much time. I am DIYing sola wood flower bouquets. I can share a photo once I have them assembled (this week hopefully!)

I DIY-d all of my flowers. I spent maybe 300 on 6 bouquets, 9 boutonnieres, centerpieces for 10 tables, and my arch. Flowers for bouquets from Amazon, centerpieces mostly Michaels, and the greenery from hobby lobby.

It's very doable! I watch for sales at the craft stores, found some at walmart that looked and felt real. Watch for sales, especially if you're wanting to still use spring colors they'll go on sale toward the end of the season

We are too. Your wedding is before mine so you will have to report back on how it went.

I chose to do sola wood flowers (easier for me to transport its a destination wedding) and i bought them from the website in raw and dip dyed them my colors. Then I bought greenery from Michael's and hobby lobby and what not to put it all together. So far I have done my bridal bouquet and a ringer bearer/ junior groomsmen boutonniere). It has been frustrating at times but with plenty of time I think you would be fine. I should note in total on all my flowers and greenery have cost me maybe $150 dollars and that includes paint, flowers, greenery, ribbon, pins and all the minor details. I have enough for my bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 2 corsages and 7 boutonnieres
