diy Hair

Opinions/thoughts on doing your own hair for your wedding?? I always hate how my hair turns out when I get it done so I’m hesitant to pay someone then end up not liking it. I’d love to see pics of your own DIY hair styles!

That’s why people do hair trials to see what they like. I considered doing my own hair by using magic bun makers for an iPod

I did my own hair. It took like 15 minutes. I straightened it and pinned curled it the night before.

The wind was really intense so my curls got thrown. And I just realized that I don’t have many pictures before I stepped outside. But the second picture kinda gives a view of the front.diy Hair 1diy Hair 2
I cannot imagine paying anyone to do my hair. I never have. You should try out different looks on yourself and not wing it like I did. Lol.

Definitely planning on doing my own hair. It was important for me to look like “myself” on my wedding day. I didn’t want some intricate hairdo like I was going to the prom. So I decided to just save the money and do it myself!

I’m in the same boat. I’m struggling with the fees imposed upon to just “style” my hair. I’ve always been the hair / makeup person with all my friends and here we are suddenly it’s my turn and there’s no one to really help in that department.
I say trust yourself, you have lots of time to practice what you want / how you want.
    We’ve got this!

My advice would be to practice as much as you can ahead of time. Since the beginning of our wedding planning, I decided I’d do my own hair. I thought since all I want is a simple half up half down or side swept hairstyle - I can do it on my own. Well, the first time I practiced it - it looked good. Then, my 2nd trial - I just couldn’t get it right. My side swept bangs kept falling in my face & over my eye. Now, I’m less than 2 months away from the wedding & low key stressing that I won’t be able to do it. Looking back, I wish I would’ve practiced more than I have. I just went and bought some root lifter & am hoping that’ll do the trick.

2 of my bridesmaids are amazing at hair and makeup so I'm just having them do my hair and makeup that way I can make sure it's perfect and I don't have to worry about spending the money.

I am doing my own hair and makeup but I definitely plan on practicing the look i'm going for A LOT so I know it'll look good day of. I'd hate to look back at all my wedding pictures and feel like they're ruined by something so simple as my hair. So, I say DIY but make sure you practice!

As of right now I'm kinda debating. I'm working with my hairdresser to get regular trims and try to help it grow as much as I can before the big day (October 24). I know the style I want, but I've never been super confident in my own styling abilities. Part of me just wants the opportunity to be pampered and have my hair done professionally, aiming for silky curls. However, this weekend I just did my easy wrap around an elastic headband while wet curls trick that I haven't tried in years, and it actually looked pretty dang good today, and I might be thinking with a little more practice I could manage it all myself now and save the money.
