DIY Ideas: Cricut Machine

Bethany Ann, on October 25, 2016 at 9:41 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Who has used their Cricut machine for wedding crafts? I'm looking for ideas to utilize my Cricut and hopefully save money.

Following, I've actually been contemplating buying one and using it for my invites and other paper items for the wedding.

I am using it to cut out escort cards, emblems for belly bands, maybe envelope liners, a vinyl sticker for a sign, and stickers for the favors

I used it for black lettering for my "welcome" window. Not sure if you have the correct model but there's also an attachment to use it for calligraphy.

I'm using mine for the signs I'm making, the lettering on the wood slab guest book we are doing and for all my escort cards and favor tags. I also used it for my bridesmaids gift. I thought about making my invitations on it but after I made my sister's shower invitations- only 30 of those, and spent hours on those, I can't imagine taking the time to make 100+ wedding invitations with it. I'm obsessed with the vinyl sheets. I made personalized wine glasses for each of my bridesmaids using my cricut

I bought one to make everything for my wedding. And then we decided to elope. However, I'm still going to make announcements (I think) and we are doing a dinner later so I'll need invitations for that. My issue is that I haven't been able to find the right combination of paper and blade to make it cut well enough. If you don't have any design templates that you want to use, you would need to buy them too so that's an extra expense. Not much, but extra.

I have a Cricut explore one... and I am obsessed with the vinyl sheets too! We are having our reception in a barn, so I was thinking of maybe using the Cricut to make a stencil to paint lettering onto wood signs.

Following. I have one I bought when I was a preschool teacher and only got to use it a handful of times before it sat in storage for 8 years. Hoping to put it to good use!

I thought about using it for balsa wood table numbers. Then I found them for about $10 on Amazon. The materials alone would have cost me $30. In this case, Amazon won out.

I'm keeping my invitations simple - picture on the front, info on the back. I'm not a fancy person, so I don't feel like making fancy Cricut invitation things.

Still looking for a way to use my Cricut for SOMETHING though. I may use it to make a sign or two -- either with vinyl or the pen option.
