DIY Invitation inserts

Charm, on November 23, 2017 at 2:21 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 2

Hi everyone. I am trying to design my inserts for my wedding invitations. The size is a little larger than standard and I have to design them myself. I will be ordering my paper from Cards and Pockets and have them cut at Office Max. Does anyone know how to actually create a design? I know what I want it to look like but I suck at creating designs. I need some step by step guidance.

I started by doing research on wording and lay outs that I liked. I looked on Pinterest and Etsy for ideas. Then I designed in word, so I could customize text boxes/font/lay out/everything. If you are looking for artwork, you can buy downloadable clip art off Etsy that is gorgeous. When my design was done I converted/saved it as a PDF. I already ordered a sample of my design off vistaprint, but I won't be ordering the final invites until next summer in case any details change.

Have you looked through our Vendor tab for some local designers and stationers? An invitation company or artist that does custom work can collaborate with you to help you make your designs work.
