diy invitation printing help

Melanie, on October 23, 2020 at 11:11 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 12
Hey guys! So I purchased an invite suite off Etsy, got it edited and now I’m ready to print it. What is the best printing option? Debating on printing at home on my printer but wondered if staples or an online printing site would be better and inexpensive.

I would print on a professional printer. The quality is so much better and you want either 60 or 120lb paper

I used my copy machine at work to print mine. I brought in some heavy weight card stock.

I know office depot/max can print invites for you and you can decide on what kind of paper there. Also, there are some online print shops you can upload your designs to. I used Zazzle because of the many size options they had. I know Vistaprint is another good one.

Not sure what shop you bought yours from, but the one I purchased our template from recommended professional printing, and had a coupon code for vistaprint. Since my template was fully customizable, I just created one draft for our postcard STDs, then another for our invites!

    Def. recommend professional printing

I printed mine at Staples and it wasn’t too expensive at all. I printed 45 invites, rsvp and detail cards. I used upgraded “fancy” paper. I think I spent $27. But I also had a coupon. Even without the coupon I think that’s a pretty good deal

I do the same thing with any invites I have to send out. I usually go to Costco and print with their premium card option. They even come with envelopes!

If you have a costco membership or know someone who has one I would highly recommend going there to have them printed because the quality is amazing and its super affordable! I think its like 15 cents per 4X6 invitation or save the date. Thats how we did ours.

Go to Staples or a professional printing press in your area via Yelp

I think it depends on a couple things. One being your printer, what is the best quality it will print, and also what type of paper you use. I would for sure use at least 60lb cardstock. I did my STD's at home on my printer. I have a photo printer so it does print beautifully.
