DIY Invites, need some advice on some glue

APD, on December 27, 2016 at 8:05 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

So I decided to do the invites mostly DIY because I really wanted pocket invitations, but they were way out of my budget. I got 100 of these and paid about $120, woohoo! My problem is, the only thing I can think of to attach the invite to the pocket with is the scrap booking glue dots, but I have never used them. Has anyone used them? Or can anyone think of a better way to do it?

Scrapbooking glue dots work well after a slight learning curve on how to place them. You could also try scrapbooking liquid glue. It's easy to use gel and won't bleed through your paper and will lie flat. Sometimes the dots are thick enough to be noticeable. Good luck!

I was worried about the dots making the card stock not lay flat. Thanks ladies!

I think the double sided glue dots for scrapbooking would work great! Especially because they don't make the paper look wet and wrinkled like regular glue.

We used the scrap booking dots to put ours together and it worked out really well for us. I loved them so much I thought about buying more to use for wrapping my Christmas gifts.

I am assembling my invitations myself too. I actually just emailed the stationer who made my invites to ask this exact question.

If this thread is still around when I hear back from her I will let you know what her professional suggestion is Smiley smile

I've never used them but I had a friend who got married last year and I remember there being glue dots when I opened her invite. It looked really nice and it didn't tear or anything like that.

The ones that are similar to the white out strips are a great option as well.

You can buy double sided tape that you apply with an applicator - like white out strips. It's really thin and wouldn't make the paper wrinkly.

I love using rubber cement! You can adjust the placement of the invite before it dries Smiley smile
