DIY Kissing Ball for church pews :)

Sandi, on February 27, 2012 at 9:57 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

I've played with a couple things and am IN LOVE with the pomander/kissing ball I made tonight! Smiley smile I plan on using these to line the aisle and hang from the pews in the church! This is the first one I made and it literally only took me 10 minutes to make and cost only about $7 total! Super excited! The only thing I may change is to incorporate my "wine"/"burgundy" color in the roses and maybe make them multi-colored.. but not sure yet...

Those look lovely! I fell in love with kissing balls too and now that we are getting married in a church they will be perfect to line the aisle with. Here's a pic of mine showing how I incorporated another of my colors into mine -

Thanks Future Mrs K! They are super easy! I took a 4" styrofoam ball, and took a length of ribbon (as long as you want the loop to be) and hot glued it to the ball.

Then I took a silk bouquet of open roses I bought from craft store ($1.29 for 5 buds) and cut the flower heads off of the bouquet leaving only about 2inches of stem left on the flower head.

Then one by one, I put a little hot glue on the 2inch flower stems and stuck them into the styrofoam ball, starting at the top right next to the where the ribbon was attached... and just worked my way around and down filling the gaps.

It literally only took me about 10 minutes, and I used about 3 bouquets (15 flower heads).. $1.29x3=$3.87

4" styrofoam ball $2 & a piece of ribbon from roll (entire roll on sale at Michaels for $1)

so less then $7 for the whole thing! Smiley smile Hope this helps! Good luck! I am not a "crafty" girl by any means, so if I can do this.. ANYONE CAN! Smiley smile

Linda R - yours are LOVELY! I love the touch of color in the center of the flowers! Smiley smile

I think I will change the color of the ribbon and maybe make another one with alternating colors just to play with and see how I like it!

    They are so pretty!
