Who all does their own nails? I desperately need cuticle oil but what you guys think. I've been trying different ideas for wedding day and I think this is what I'm gonna go with. I cant take a very good picture. They look better in person lol.

Those look awesome! I generally don't DIY my own nails. But in a pinch if a salon isn't available, I will use those pre-decorated press ons from Kiss that are sold everywhere, and last roughly a week before they pop off.

I've only gotten a day out of those lmao. These are my real nails with acrylic. So no popping off these baby's.

Yup. Real nails, no tips or anything. Just use that acrylic dip powder.

They look good. I used to do my own nails but they caused too much damage to my natural nails and just not worth it.

I’ll be using some sort of custom painted press-ons and honestly they only need to last 24-hours, and they lasted a week during my last trial. So it’s a win. LOL

Yes unfortunately they cause a ton of damage. Usually after 6 months or so I take off all the acrylic and whatever else I have been using and cut them really short grow them out and keep cutting them. Then after a few times of doing that I start painting them again.

I did that for years. It’s been 10 years since I last used them and my nails have never been the same.

Pretty good job for DIY. My only suggestion is to file/shape them so that they’re not flaring out so wide at the ends.

They're cute! If you don't already have a cuticle oil, I love Burt's Bees cuticle cream. It smells lemony. I like to put it on when I'm not doing anything with my hands (other than maybe typing) so I can let it soak in for a while.

I second the Burt’s bees cuticle cream! I think they look good for diy, but I agree with the pp to pay attention to the end when shaping so they aren’t wider at the tips.
I typically leave my nails natural and just file and shape them. The one time I did acrylic nails they trashed my natural nails and took a while to recover, so I’ve avoided everything except regular polish.

They look good! And I am a third for the Burt's Bees cuticle cream and the shaping them a bit so they don't flare out at the tip as much! I wish my nails looked that good when I do them myself lol! I am trying to learn how to do dip powder and it is not going nearly as well lol

Not bad! I've started doing my own lately, just wasn't happy with any of the salons near me. I use fake tips though because I bite my nails. I find they stay on best when I use a dehydrator & primer, are you using that before the acrylic? I've been getting fake tips & acrylics for 12 years and in the last 6 months I have been doing my own. I went through a period of about 2 months where I didn't have any at all and I've had a few months throughout the 12 years where I didn't have them, my nails were completely fine. It took them a few weeks to get back to normal but there was no long term damage.
