DIY Paper FLower Wall

FutureMrs.DAO, on November 12, 2016 at 9:33 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

Whew! Today I took a stab at creating paper flowers. Im so in love with the flower wall that I must have it for my wedding. Im not really a DIY kind of person as normally I will just buy what ever I need. But these flowers cost two arms and two legs to be made by someone else so I decided that I must take on this challenge! The below photo is what I hope to achieve though some of the colors will be different

There was a bride recently that posted a Bam with a flower wall to die for. Try searching to find her posts about it!

These are the TWO pieces I just finished. I just looked at a youtube tutorial and just used scissors, hot glue, and paper. What do you think of them as the first stab at it?

OP, @MyBBLife did her own flower wall. It came out beautifully!! Here's the post to her BAM from yesterday: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/bam-pro-pic-heavy/cff76a314fc8566f.html

Your flowers look pretty good. I'm sure you will be very good at it by the time you're done. Good luck!! I'm a DIY girl and this is still not something I would take on.

I'm considering doing this also. I have watched videos and looked at templates. Please keep us posted on your progress!

    Thanks @Becoming!

My first piece of advice would be give yourself enough time, but looking at your date, you have MORE than enough time!

My other piece of advice would just be based on the size, be sure you have adequate space to store and transport once it is complete. It will be HUGE when you get done. We used my father's Suburban to transport and it still took TWO trips to get both pieces there. If you have any additional questions... Let me know.

@MyBBLife thanks for chiming in and for the advice. May i ask what you used to mount the flowers on? We will need ours to be free standing like what yours appeared to be

@Future: We used insulation board to mount them on and attached brackets at the bottom. Here is a YouTube tutorial that shows you how to build it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1S4wjXM6_U

I'm also doing paper flowers, but not for a backdrop. I got a template from a girl on IG - @backdropinabox. She has tutorials that I followed, and practice makes perfect! I started way early, so give yourself extra time!!

I just started making mine too! It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it! Good luck!
