DIY Photo Booth Printing

Katie, on April 12, 2016 at 8:01 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

I'm looking into doing a DIY photo booth for my reception to save money. I'm not sure how to go about printing pictures at the reception, though, especially at a reasonable price. What items are best to buy? What else should I get for it? I'm not using it as a guestbook or my favors, just something fun to have at the reception and a token from the wedding. Any ideas are appreciated!! Thanks!

I'm looking into this too. I found these print options but thinking I'd need someone to manage it still.

You'll definitely need someone to monitor it, which is why we opted out of this option. The Fuji Instax lets guests use their smartphone, but they have to download an app. A polaroid camera (they make fancy new ones that use Zink paper.

Http://m.instructables.com/id/Photobooth-iPadDSLR/ this is an option if you're tech savvy. It's what we were planning to do originally.

We're going to rig up our DSLR with a button that guests will push and then the camera takes a series of photos. We might end up with doing something like the link Lindsey posted. We're not going to have a printer because I think that adds too many things that can go wrong. I'm going to make my own "photo strip" template and have the photos printed to send out with thank you cards.

I know my workplace hosted a pictures with Santa thing. I borrowed them my regular printer with an SD card slot. They used two SD cards so they could take pics, then swap and print. This might be more work than you're looking for, but if you already have some of these things, it might help.

You could let guests know on your website about the app to download or make a cute sign with detailed instructions on how to download the app & use the printer, most people that are interested in it will figure it out pretty easily. I feel like paying an attendant would be expensive, you might as well hire a photobooth at that point... also the film for those polaroids is pretty expensive, at least you would have the printer for a long time & be able to re use or resell it

You can use sparkbooth for a small investment and it emails the photos to the guests

I'm looking into this too. So far all I've found is the Fuji version a polaroid. It's the one that has to be monitored the least in my opinion.
