diy photo booth

Traci, on September 28, 2020 at 3:49 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 9
We are planning to do our own photo booth with an app, ring light and iPad. My question is do you think guests would prefer the ability to print out their pictures (like a photo booth strip) or just send them to themselves via text or email so they can upload to social media or keep? What do you prefer as a guest for pictures taken at a wedding? I’m planning on this being less of a props photo booth (no signs or mustaches) and more serious pictures (think flower wall and pink couch). Thoughts?

I prefer the digital more than the printout

If I was a guest I would prefer the printout, because everyone has their own phones they can get digitals from at a photo op. We have a greenery wall at our venue specifically for photo booths and stuff and we decided to get a Polaroid camera and everyone will get one picture, and if they want to take more on their phones they are welcome to. We just couldn't afford the $400+ charge the photo booth guy was going to charge us to set up-have for one hour!!!-with no attendant whatsoever-all digital. No way lol.

Ooh they're both fun options!! Print-outs might be easier since you don't then have to enter your phone number or e-mail, but you could do either!

I’m worried about who will change out the film and fix the printer if it isn’t working! Maybe it’s easier than I think!

I did a booth with pretty background and no props. We didn't even have ipad/camera. Since everyone has a smart phone guests took their own pictures and shared to social media with wedding hashtag. I think prints just get thrown out or shoved in a junk drawer anyways these days! I say it worked and was the most user friendly!

Oh that's a good point! If the printer is too complicated being able to share it digitally might be easier!

We're doing the same kind of DIY photo booth with iphone, led ringlight with remote. We bought a cheap backdrop frame and 3 backdrops that we'll clip together so guest can flip to their fav. Also we're downloading a photo booth app for the phone so they can get all the photos directly sent to them via text, email, Pinterest etc.

We did our own photo booth including all the props. I used a ring light, tripod for my iPad and downloaded the app Tap Booth and it was a HUGE hit! I opted not to have the option to print but guests could text or email the pictures to themselves and I also uploaded them to an album I made on my Facebook page so people could also get them from there. diy photo booth 1
