diy Playlist

Jessie, on November 18, 2019 at 8:36 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 3 5

Has anyone ever been to a wedding or has had a wedding with a DIY playlist? We plan to plug our phone into a speaker that our venue supplies and play a playlist we made. I want to be able to fade in/out of songs. I'm looking for a website to edit our playlist, our playlist is on Spotify. Let me know if you have any ideas or advice!

We used Spotify and people loved it! We actually received multiple compliments on the music from guests. As far as fading the music, I wouldn’t worry about it for the reception... during the ceremony we just had a friend at the sound system to manually fade out processional songs by slowly turning down the volume.

Spotify lets you fade in and out of songs in the settings. We’re also using an app called “serato pyro” to determine the tempo of the songs so we know what goes together.

    Hey there, Jessie Smiley smile

Ruby is correct. It’s possible in your Spotify settings to set up crossfade, so songs blend in to one another and there is no gap between reach song. Check this out and let us know if it's what you’re aiming for Smiley smile

What genre of music do you have on the playlist? Are you looking for any more music suggestions?

I used Spotify and everyone loved the music all day. There is a feature called Crossfade found in your settings that will give you that fade in sound. I only used mine for the dancing portion to make it sound more like a DJ's mix. The classical before the ceremony and acoustic songs during cocktail hour and "dinner" sounded weird to me with the crossfade feature.

This is a great information thread! We are planning on using Spotify for our ceremony/reception because all our music is instrumental film and video game scores. We aren't having any dancing so we're mostly having a glorified dinner party. I'm happy to see this has worked well for other couples because I was a Little nervous about our choice to skip a DJ. I actually just posted about it! LOL
