Has anyone done this? I am thinking of using this website for direction http://thetwips.com/blog/diy-ideas/ribbon-in-the-sky-diy/ Anyone know a good ribbon wholesale site?? or any advice if you have made these before? I think I am going to add little bells, I saw them at Joanns for low cost. Thanks!...

I went to Party City and found the already made wands on clearance for 10.00 and there are 10 in a pack . i added the colors I want into the wands and presto,,, I was going to add a tag to each one but thinking it should be a sign kind of like yours. I have lots of time to decide ,but I cant pass up a good deal.

I first saw the wands on Esty and I did make themSmiley smile I made a total of 160 with 3 colors. I got the bells and ribbon from Micheal's. If you use their 50% coupon the ribbon was $1.50 and the sticks come 20 in a pack for $1.99 or $2.99 once I did the math it was cheaper for me to DIY with bells and hot clueSmiley smile Here is a post as well of my wands which the guest will wave on our exit while "Ribbon in the Sky" is playing by Steve Wonder. Hope all works out for you

Anyone doing black and white? Oriental trading has them $17 for 24 wands.

I just wanted to chime in on this, I know I've come back to read comments several times before going through with this project so maybe my comments can help someone else! Smiley smile

We are expecting less than the 80 invited to our wedding in June, but I made 80 (just in case). I got the finished wooden dowels at Michaels for about $22 with a coupon. Picked up tiny screw eyes at Home Depot for $8 and spent 2hrs one eve just screwing the eyes in. (I got tiny ones so they were a bit hard on my hands but once you get it started the needle nose pliers help finish it. I had a craft night with my Mom and MOH and we made all 80 in 2hrs. We had piles of ribbon, baby rick rack and lace. With coupons I spent a good $30 on ribbon and Mom had about 8 rolls at home. Then I had to go back for more, so buy WAYYYYY more than you think you'll need!

I'd seen no less than 3 tutorials on how to make these, and I didn't use one... more of a combo of them all. It was super quick and easy! (cont.)

I knew I wanted bells so I planned to use a jump ring to connect the bell to the screw eye, like I'd seen in a tutorial. Nope. That shredded my thumbnail. (Course that was my fault for getting tiny screw eyes and tiny jump rings) I tried hot gluing the ribbons like in the tutorial picture above. Wow! I'm a crafty gal but I suck at hot glue. It leaves strings and just looks messy. So we had 80 dowels with screw eyes and thankfully my Mom took a sip of wine and said "what if we did this?" She strung a ribbon through the tiny screw eye and then did 4-5 more, slipped a bell on one skinny ribbon and tied all the ribbons in a knot. It really is that easy. We could have done them faster but we enjoy some girlie gossip time, something none of us get anymore with as busy as we are and tasted a lovely wine that we'll serve at the wedding! Its not hard, and not crafty...just takes a bit of patience. All in all it cost me 70cents ea and they are exactly what I wanted! Good luck ladies!
