Thought I would share photos of the BEAUTIFUL wood bar that my fiance and his father built. My FIL is an amazing builder. We decided to build the bar for our wedding after seeing the cost of renting one (we are getting married at my in-laws' house). For a few hundred dollars more (probably came out to $450 more than a rental, after all was said and done) we were able to build a bar which we will put into our new house once we move back to MI next year and it is incredibly sentimental to us. I did the staining and poly coating after they were finished. I still have another coat or two to do and then we need to add the hardware (bottle openers and glass racks) and we are good to go! It was more expensive than we originally estimated (as most DIY projects are) but we are SO happy with the end result and this is something we will treasure forever.
