I finished testing out my sweetheart table backdrop and thought I'd share. I want a little sparkle behind us since we're in a hotel ballroom.
I considered making a frame from PVC pipes, which would run around $25 but it seemed time/space consuming. For $10 more, I bought a collapsible LimoStudio photography backdrop frame. I was very pleased with the ease of setting up the frame, which doesn't bow with the drapes or lights. It's 10ft long and can extend to 8.5ft tall (which will fit my venue but not my house!)
I used 6 Ikea Lill drapes and attached the curtain lights with safety pins. I managed to find 4 new drapes at Goodwill, but otherwise this setup runs $80. If you were to rent a frame and drapes from a company, will be at least $100.
Overall I'm very happy with it! I might spray paint the frame white if I have time but it definitely accomplishes my goal.
Best of luck with all your DIY projects!
