diy Table Greenery

Taylor, on February 7, 2018 at 3:07 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 18
So I was originally planning on doing all real floral and then I decided I wanted to make our bouquets, boutonnières, corsages, etc. However, I want to do either garland or loose greenery on the tables. I was wondering if anyone else has done this themselves? If so, how? Real or fake? Pictures? Thanks!

I plan on doing this for my wedding and I think its such a cool idea! Amazon has strings of garland flowers you can buy for cheap if you are looking for that, but I planned on taking wider fabric and making a sort of floral table runner. I watched a few Youtube videos on this so that I know how to do it for the future, and it was a huge help. Smiley heart

We aren’t married yet, so we haven’t tried it out, but we plan on using all real flowers/greenery. I just got a couple pictures off of Pinterest for my inspiration

This is what we're doing. The full garlands are expensive because they have to be hand woven together. Thankfully our venue has the long farm tables so we can keep things simple but still be elegant

If you have long tables I will caution you about how much space the garland takes up. I was at one where it was gorgeous but the table was so crowded there wasn’t really place for plates and cups.

Costco sells real garland. It's something like $80 for 25 feet. You could add your own flowers if you wanted to dress it up a bit.

I don't have pics but overlapping branches of greenery down the length of the table can give you the same look as garland. Garland is pricey because it is labor intensive. Just overlap the branches, hiding the cut ends. When you get to the end of the table, turn the branches around and hide the cut ends under the previously placed branches.

You can tuck in flowers in florist tubes, votive candles. You can also mix fresh and dried greens like seeded eucalyptus.

We used garlands as centerpieces for my reception tables. We also used them to drape the pews for the ceremony.

This is very similar to what I want! I contacted some florists and it’s extremely expensive for how many tables we will have. Are you going to DIY?

I didn’t really think about that! Ours are picnic tables so not too long but also not extremely wide either. Thanks!

Thanks! These are real. Our florists used mixed greenery with berries and flowers. To keep the cost down overall we used them to decorate the ceremony and then repurposed them for the reception.

This is really pretty! Are you doing all of your tables like this or mixing it up? I'm trying to get ideas!

We're doing this on all the tables except the sweet heart table. Depending on the length of the table there will either be two or three sets of the candles and greenery.
