Diy train for dress?

Stephanie, on October 31, 2018 at 9:47 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Has anyone here bought a wedding dress w/o a train, and added either a regular train somehow, or a detachable train? It’s an option I’m considering, because I’ve found a dress I love in every other way, just missing the train! I haven’t found anything else in my price range that I love with everything included! Not looking for anything crazy, just a sweep or chapel length train. Thoughts?

I bought a dress without a train and then bought a tulle overskirt to give it more poof and length. It's perfect for our church wedding! The skirt was $200 from Davids and I can take it off to dance and stuff!

    Without skirt-

Your dress is beautiful!! I’m looking at this more fitted style from Lulu’s!

I bought my dress at Lulus as well and it came with a little train. Since it was too long for me I hemmed the front part, making the train looks a little longer.

You could still do an overskirt that has a train for that! It doesn't have to be a big skirt, there are a lot of listings on Etsy as well for trains!

My dress is more fitted like the one you posted and I'm also doing an overskirt for the ceremony! I ordered my overskirt on Amazon. After shipping it's just over $100

I am thinking of doing the same thing! Adding tool and sewing on applique - curious if you went through with it or not! Would love to hear your experience and see how it came out!

My thoughts were to buy the tool in person to get the right type, find some applique that matches the style of the dress and make the train according to the measurements of the dress. Then I would attach buttons to it and loops to the underside of the dress so I can attach the train and detach as needed
