diy Venue

I'm looking for ideas on how to make a backyard wedding look more beautiful. We want to keep a low budget, but don't want it to look cheap. I'm going for a vintage/romantic style. Basically, we want to turn our home into our classic venue for both the ceremony and reception. Thoughts? Thanks!

The picture is my inspiration for the reception, but I am lost on the ceremony especially. diy Venue 1

That is a beautiful idea I love the look with the lights what looking some draping poles and use some draping and the lights. Long tables depending on how many people are attending. Lush centerpieces or floating candles everywhere if flowers are going to be a high budget cost. Good luck with your planning its sounds that going to be amazing

I had a backyard wedding in June. I would say the majority of the time it will be daylight. My ceremony was in the backyard starting 3:30 and band stopped playing around 10. It only was super dark out for an hour or so.

The reason I bring that up is because your inspiration photo looks like it’s really dark outside!
It rained on my wedding day. You absolutely 100% need tents and a rain back up plan.
Mosquitos and muddy ground can be an issue. Would you consider renting a floor or some sort of ground covering?
Good luck! Please let us know what you decide!

Know that the set up of your inspo picture is most definitely not low budget—florals and lighting like that costs thousands upon thousands.

Can you post photos of your backyard and say how many guests you’re having? That would help with making budget suggestions.

It will be around sunset, so it will be dark for the reception. We have a patio and screened in porch. If it starts to rain we have room for our guests inside as well. We're also going to spray the yard for mosquitoes anyways because they are so bad.
    What was your ceremony like?

We have access to magnolia trees and will be growing flowers around the yard. I plan to make some floral arrangements, but most likely not as big as the one in the picture. The lighting was only adding up to $300.
We're expecting around 30-40 guests. The backyard is flat and grassy, out in the country, with plenty of space for both the ceremony and reception to have separate areas.
