diy vs. Pro Photo Albums?

Pirate & 60s Bride, on April 14, 2018 at 8:01 PM Posted in Married Life 0 8

I've used Shutterfly for many hard-cover albums. Their DIY tool is so easy & fun! Buuut...for my reception album I'll try their Premium Album with better paper upgrades. Anyone else use it? Anywhere close to professional photographer albums??? Are there better DIY ones out there (Artifact Uprising, PikPerfect)? We have no kids to pass ours on to (neither do our siblings) so not sure if I should splurge for a small pro album from our photographer or not?

I have used adoramapix.com for albums. It takes some time to figure out the design process but you get professional results.

Everything I’ve gotten from artifact uprising has been absolutely phenomenal but I’m still not sure I can justify the price difference

I've used Artifact Uprising for my engagement photos, costs much less going through my photographer whose base price starts at $500 for just one album.

No comparison, pro albums are much better!! But be sure to check with your photographer to make sure they are actually offering a professional album. You can see and feel the difference!

My photographer charged over $1000 for a pro album. As nice as it would have been to get one, I went with Shutterfly.

Thanks for the tips. Do you think Adoramapix and Artifact Uprising are better than the Premium album from Shutterfly (starts at $75 for matte finish and layflat pages)? I still might give it a whirl for our reception album. Depending on how it turns out, I might use it for wedding album or splurge when possible on the photographer's professional one because it sounds like there's quite a big difference. Thanks, ladies!

FYI--Shutterfly's regular albums are good for family or friend gifts. About $50 for 30 pages and they offer 20-50% off discounts a lot. Their "copy album" feature is handy because I made one wedding album for my dad, then customized versions for my mom, sis and MIL quickly with pics they'd want. Personal gift on a budget!
