DIY Watercolor Placecards!

April, on April 21, 2016 at 11:31 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

Has anyone DIY'd or partially DIY'd their placecards? I really want to have some floral or watercolor accents as well as have each card be a little bit different but don't want to pay close to $1 per card from a stationery store! Has anyone ordered some sort of printable white folding cards and then embellished them themselves? Or any sort of DIY place card advice?

Honestly I went to the dollar tree. They sell simple White place cards (40 to a pack) mine has a thin silver line about a fifth of the way up going horizontal. We used water colors across them and then we will have my mom (she does calligraphy) write their names once invites are sent and RSVP come back.

I think it is a cute, as well as thrifty idea.

Also, @MrsToBe I'm extremely jealous that your mom is a calligrapher. I wish I had that talent...

I want to do watercolor place cards too! I plan on just using card stock and cutting it up with my guillotine paper cutter so everything's straight. Do some swipes of watercolor and write the names myself. I think it will be pretty simple. You could also get clear address labels and print on those if you don't want to write them.

You could find water color pattern paper and print the names on them, cut then fold if you don't want to paint them.

I think you can totally do those yourself. I DIYed my place cards. It was a tedious task but about a month before the wedding I started doing 10-20 a day.
