DIY Wedding Entrance doors

Future Mrs. A, on October 26, 2015 at 3:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 3

Hello!

The fiance and I have officially decided on a ceremony and reception venue for our wedding next spring. The ceremony space is outdoors in a wooded area and I am searching for ways to define the space and also to provide for a grand entrance for everyone in the bridal party. I was thinking about trying to DIY something like these doors (with my handyman grandfather's help, of course). Has anyone attempted these on a budget before? Where can I find affordable distressed doors? How did you build and attach a frame to make it stable? What is the best way to transport it to a ceremony location? This is my first post on here, so bare with me if I'm asking too many questions at once! Smiley smile

Habitat for Humanity resale shops and architectural salvage shops will be your best bets. Or buy new doors and distress them.

Your g'pa can build a frame like above to hold the doors.

Definitely look for Habitat for Humanity/Re-store shops, they will be affordable, might come distressed, and if they come with a frame then all you will need to do is figure out how to add the supports from the picture above Smiley smile good luck!

Hi @Future Mrs A ~ welcome to the WeddingWire Community!

I love this look Smiley smile I've seen some rental companies that offer these, as well. Have you done a Google search in your area? Or looked at rental companies listed on WeddingWire?
