diy Wedding Invitations

Kayla, on January 18, 2018 at 9:54 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Has anyone bought the DIY wedding invitations at Michael's or Joanne Fabrics? Considering this as an option since invites aren't really a high priority on my list. I'd like to save money if I could, while still looking nice. The kits look like they include everything and then you just print whatever wording you want on them. Does anyone have any pics of ones they did like this? Any suggestions/advice?

Exactly! You just put in your wording. Just price out what staples/Fedex Kinkos/printing companies would cost to print them for you, if you have a good printer at home then the cost for the ink and card stock. I was going to go that route but found a local invitation designer that is printing and designing them for essentially $2 a card. (and that includes envelopes/rsvp card & envelope/ 3inserts & a pocket fold envelope

I actually found a digital set on Etsy that matches my theme perfectly & customized then to print myself. I paid $16 for all stationary including RSVPs, etc.

I bought my invites blank from Hobby Lobby and it included everything from the invite to the rsvp cards and all the envelopes too, they were gifted to me at my engagement party so it was of no cost to me but if i remember correctly for a box of 50 it was 25 dollars for the particular ones i picked out. And my fH aunt is going to print them out for me at her office so i lucked out on saving tons of money with my invites but i did look into staples and office max and depending on the detail of your invites i came up with no more then 2.25 per invite to be printed which isnt terrible eirher! Good luck.

Ps my invites are ivory cardstock with scallop edging and has a lace sleeve that everything slips into and tied with a piece of burlap. They are beautiful!

Wait for online sites to have their sales if you can. We paid just over $1 an invite and around $0.50 for our magnet Save the Dates. Try peartree.com shutterfly.com vistaprint.com If you can look around you will find a sale and it will put your mind at ease. Way less busy work for you and they will come out perfect!

I found templates on Esty for $9 and $14.09. I bought glossy postcard paper for my STD postcards at staples for $23.99 per 100 postcards. They also have invitation paper depending on how you want them and what you are willing to spend. Some come with rsvp cards and the envelopes for both.

I am going with templates off etsy along with paper off etsy. I'll attach pictures, but you could do a similar thing with non deckled edge paper for cheaper. It depends on the look you're going for. We are also having vellum save the dates over a picture of us together and we will get everything printed at Staples to finish it off with wax seals.
