Here are my wedding shoes that I DIY strassed myself using E6000 glue and 5 different sizes of swarovski crystals in AB.

I also bought a bow shoe clip from etsy and strassed it as well to go with the shoes.

I actually used real Christian Louboutins for these, but only because I fell in love with the real Fifi Strass from Christian Louboutin that sell for $3,000. I was NOT going to be able to afford it for that amount, so I decided to just DIY it for 1/3 of that price.

First pic is of the shoe, sans bow. Second is with the DIY bow I made (it's a shoe clip, so you can remove it or wear it in a different location). Third pic is the work in progress (for those of you who are confused as to what I meant by "DIY"~Yes, I added the crystals myself. It took a total of 40 hours for the pair, and 15 for the bows)

Thanks Elizabeth! I'm sick of this high school bickering crap. It's getting super annoying.

Thank you Sydney! It was a rude and completely ignorant comment. Smiley smile

[... Tactfully ignoring the previous debates...]

WOW, its brave taking glue to such an expensive pair of shoes. But I admire the fact that you saw something you wanted and found a way to get it at a price within your personal budget. You did a really good job -must be painstaking work - a definate labor of love.

@Future Mrs. K: Yeah it was. I'm glad there are a few people on here who would rather not argue and actually give some good feedback.

True, I'm a part of other wedding websites besides this one, and this site is the only one that has constant bickering lol

Whoa! I just got back from 8 hours of floral design class and I am err...a bit taken aback.

I am new to weddingwire, for one, so first of all...thanks to all the ladies who were being very nice about this post. I am not sure where all the catty ones came from, but I am sure it was just a misunderstanding and I will assume it was not anyone deliberately trying to be snide. For a brief overview of my income, I teach, but I also run a tutoring business in the valley. I also do other side jobs like hair, makeup, etc. to try and make money where I can. I am also saving everything I have for my wedding.

Also, if I was going to try and use this post to sell my services at strassing, then I don't think I would have posted up detailed information about what I did and how other people could DIY it themselves since...well...that would not be very good for my business...no?

@Wicked Lizzie I'm getting married in Moorpark, and I absolutely love it there! I'm living in Pasadena right now

@ Future Mrs.S, hahaha yes, I HONESTLY did not think I would do these to a pair of CLs, so I can understand why people were questioning this post in the first place. The only reason I ended up doing it to the CLs was because after WEEKS looking for other shoes to strass, I just could not find a pair that I wanted to strass so much and my FI ended up telling me to just buy some CLs and then strass them. I was SOOO nervous when I put that first rhinestone on, but after a few hours, you sort of stop caring because you start to just get sick from that glue (e6000 is very strong and it can get you very sick if you don't use it in a well ventilated area)

@Syndey J, haha I was wondering if this was just a WeddingWire thing because I felt like it was more intense than other wedding websites I've tried (theKnot was okay...but a bit boring, and I actually really like WeddingBee). I also want to sincerely thank you for all of your sweet comments throughout this thread.

    @ A P.

I will try and take pics of the back of the bow when I get home to Pasadena. I'm actually at my parents' house right now, and I might be spending the night here. However, just to let you know, the shoe clip works like clip-on earrings. I bought them from a vendor on etsy (blue leather bow shoe clips), and then I basically just spent 15 hours putting rhinestones on them.

DIY FOR THE BOW (In case anyone is interested in trying this out) I used 5 sizes in aqua crystals so that they would match the 5 sizes in AB crystals I used for the shoe (5SS, 7SS, 9SS, 12SS, 20SS), and then I also did a few rhinestones in Aqua AB (it's like the same color, Aqua, but it also has a coat of the iridescent color AB) so that it would "blend" better with the shoe...if that makes sense. I used them randomly throughout the bow...

@Noei haha thanks! I just wrote that "Our Story" thing two or three nights ago...I was actually up ALL night trying to write that for my website. I am happy that people find it amusing and are NOT sending me comments like "barf...I threw up from all the cheese I just read" ^____^

@Glenn S. I don't think I was ever complaining about my salary, so your comment seems a little out of left field. I know you were just generalizing, but that was a big unnecessary, no?

@Victoria C. THANK YOU for standing up for teachers everywhere! Haha I love being a teacher, and my students are awesome. Some of them are also going to perform at my wedding! I am really excited because my students are UBER talented and I really am looking forward to having them be a part of it.

Its actually not hard to do but is very time consuming. I did only my heel on a pair of shoes before and it took me a whole day, in between doing other things. But like many of you, I have seen these shoes before online when I was searching to buy some. Of course there is no way I could afford 3,000 either so I had mine made for $250.00 and to me they look great.
