Diy/secondhand Registry

Kayla, on April 21, 2019 at 9:46 PM Posted in Registry 1 8

I'm really big into secondhand. Is there any way to have a registry that has items with no particular store attached? For example, if I want a frying pan, I can just add a frying pan to the list and the guest can buy it at a Goodwill, Savers, Salvation Amy etc.

There are registries like zola and Amazon that let you add items from 3rd party sites (I have some subscription boxes and ikea items on our Amazon registry. Thb, as a guest I would want to buy you something new.

Yes as a guest I would never buy the bride and groom something from a thrift store, cuz no matter how much someone likes thrifting if they are offered the same item brand new for free I’m guessing they’re going to take that over the thrifted one.

Great idea but really hard to register for. I'd probably just set up a nonprofit donation site for your wedding instead of gifts and then buy what you want/need after. We did this, it was great. We raised a ton of money for our nonprofit.

There is not a way to register for secondhand or thrift stores.

It would be so much work to figure out how to do that, because a thrift store might not have something you want. What we did was make a registry at myregistry.com because it lets you pick things from any website.

No, I don't think there's a way to do that. Besides, even if you could, most guests would opt to buy you something brand new.

If you register with Amazon, at least you have the whole site of items to choose from.

I feel exactly the same way and have not been able to figure our how to do this either! Not that it HAS to be from a thrift store, but just that I don't care where it is from. It can be new or secondhand. It can be from any store. I'm not brand picky. I have found two sites that do this for baby showers (encorebabyregistry.com and babylist.com) that I'm saving for down the road.. wish I could find a bridal shower one.
