dj pricing - Boston/newport, ri

Lisa, on July 22, 2019 at 9:53 AM Posted in Rhode Island Planning 0 16

Would any brides in the Boston/Rhode Island area be able to share how much is typical to pay for a DJ (for ceremony + reception + lighting)? I got a couple quotes between 1,700-2,000 which seems really high to me. I have friends who paid around $800, granted that was just to DJ the reception not ceremony.. but I'd be curious to hear what others paid or if you have any recommendations in the area. This definitely seems like the hardest vendor to choose so far. TYI!

I'm in the area and I've seen higher than $2k, I'd say $****. We live in an expensive area with a lot of music scenes so DJs have higher end equipment and venues. With lighting ceremony and reception I've seen quotes start at $2k, to me under that is a great deal.

Yes he’s awesome. I’ve met with him 2 times already, he’s thorough, creates a timeline for you and he’s very attentive. I’ve had to email him a few times for questions and to tweak my timeline and he gets back instantly! Can’t wait to see him preform on the big day. He was rated the best DJ of 2018.

I feel you. Idk why the area is so high - I live in DC abd we get much more bang for our buck for $2k. Maybe that includes a photo booth?

Mine is roughly $110 and that’s for ceremony, reception, up lighting of the venue, and our personal monogram displayed on the dance floor
