Dj/music

Erika, on April 14, 2021 at 3:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I am having a dilemma. I would like to have a dj just to feel a little more organized in the "events" of the day and not have to worry about the music at all. However, we only really want music for the ceremony and dances. the rest of the music can just be background music because our family and friend group are not dancers. but at the same time, i feel like maybe they would dance! What is your take on this?

That is what a dj does. They play background music during cocktail hour and dinner that no one dances to. Let them know what you want and what you don't.

I say go for the dj if not then you will be stressed in making sure things run smoothly.

How big is your wedding? I had a small wedding-- 20 people most of which are non-dancers. I didn't think a DJ was worth the money, so I made Spotify playlists that my DOC handled (I gave her a timeline of the songs to be played for each event) and it work great. We had a playlist with just a few songs just in case people wanted to dance after dinner, and me, one of my sisters, nephew and one of my uncles cut a rug. LOL! Had I had a bigger guest list (or people I knew would dance), I would have gotten a DJ.

What I'm saying is nobody we are inviting dances. We are just a big old social and drinking group with no dancing.

In that case, just make a Spotify playlist.
