Do I give favors to each person, or the couple?

We are giving out mini maple syrups for our favors, and they are a little on the pricey side so I was wondering if I can give them to the couple or do I have to give them to each guest?

So they use their gift before they even get home? That is shitty. The syrup should be provided with the waffles.

No one's making fun of you. They're just trying to let you know your idea is unrealistic and is not geared towards your guests' comfort. We're just trying to let you know about things you may not have thought about.

I'm going to give you an opinion from a possible guest's perspective. To me, buffet breakfast foods sounds like the continental breakfast you get at some hotels. They usually are just okay, unless you're at some super fancy hotel. Waffles are only good when they're freshly made. If they're mass produced and just sitting in a warming bin for awhile, they'll start to get soggy. For the omlet option, how are those going to be made? The only time omlets are good are when they are freshly made and still hot. Again, mass produced omlets remind me of hotel breakfast scrambled eggs in a warming pan. I never take those at a breakfast because they are usually never good. I'm not sure what else you are having, but you would definitely need more options than just waffles and omlets. Sides of bacon, sausage, and hash browns would be a must. This description of a breakfast buffet sounds like it doesn't have a place at a wedding.

Now I'm not saying you shouldn't have breakfast foods at all, the whole point is to say that it should be properly executed. This would require you to have a couple chefs on hand making these items to order, instead of in bulk. With your smallish wedding of around 50 people, 5 chefs on hand seems like a good number. (Other people can correct me if I'm wrong about that. I have no catering experience).

Please take our thoughts into consideration. We're not trying to belittle your ideas. We're just trying to look out for you and your guests. You don't want people talking about your wedding for years to come for all the wrong reasons.

We are doing edible favors as well, and there is one for each guest.
