Do I have to give bridesmaid gifts?

BootsyBoo, on September 14, 2016 at 8:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 61

Seriously, this is the first place where I am seeing these.

Yeah, you definitely need to give them some kind of gift.

You don't have to give it as part of a proposal but you do have to give them a gift to thank them for being your bridesmaid

Not when you ask them. At the wedding, yes.

At the wedding yes. Everyone does it differently but I've never been in a wedding where there wasn't one. Not saying you are, but we went with a smaller wedding party and I'm glad. It really adds up.

Yes it is a thank you for supporting you on your day. I'm surprised you haven't seen it before it is pretty standard. Doesn't have to be big/expensive but you do have to do something thoughtful.

Why can't it just be a thank you card? When my sister had her wedding the bridesmaids didn't get anything (I was one).

Because it can't. It doesn't have to be expensive or extravagant, but you need to buy them a gift.

I've been a BM 6 times and never not gotten a thank-you gift.

I believe thank you gifts are the norm.. but the only one I can remember was a picture of me and the bride at the wedding....because it sucked so bad

I didn't buy my girls gifts because it was the norm, I bought them gifts because I love them and am appreciative of their support.

The first wedding I was in was almost 7 years ago and she gave us gifts. It's not a new thing.
