Do i really need a registry?

In my opinion, if you don't have a registry then people will gift cash. Nothing wrong with that! You may get a few rogue photos or blankets, but most likely you'll just get cash. If you want a couples shower or bridal shower though, you really should have a registry.

I am doing one but still don't know what to add. My fh and I are moving in after we get married. Him and i will be getting a whole new place so visually i can't see what we really need. I'm just adding some big things, but to me this been real stressful in a way lol.

I definitely recommend having a registry, even just a small one. You would not believe how many "where are you registered?" questions we got. There's no way to politely say "we're not registered because we want cash instead!" (lol) and if you just say "we aren't registered" those people who asked will likely just pick something out for you on their own and it likely won't be something you want or need. There's always something you can use... just register for it, because it's better people get you something you picked out and actually want rather than picking something on their own.

We were in the same boat. We already live together and just bought a condo, so we’re pretty good on home items and could really use cash. However, we did register somewhere because gifts are usually given for bridal showers. There are certainly things we could use that we don’t necessarily “need.” Especially those big ticket items lol. People will gift accordingly as they want. I always give cash, even if people are registered.

We are doing a small registry now before my shower and then we are planning to remove anything remaining for the wedding.

We didn't register. We figure people will either bring cash, or a homemade gift, or nothing at all, and that's OK. We are super easy going and we don't care about getting money or gifts. We had thought about starting a honeymoon fund, but all the places we found took a cut of the gifted amount so we decided to cut out the middle man. Anything we get will go toward the honeymoon or our new house.

If there are specific things you're hoping for, definitely register. If you are just hoping for money, no need to register anywhere - people will mostly get the hint.
