Do Not Work the Week of Your Wedding

Kathryn, on September 9, 2015 at 1:56 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 57

Dear God, I am only working 2 days this week but I wish I wasn't! I wanted to take the whole week off but I am already taking unpaid time for the honeymoon so I decided to work 2 days. Today has been so annoying. Clients needing stuff, Co workers needing stuff. Venue asking all kinds of questions. MIL trying to find someone to bring grannie to the wedding. Just too much stuff. I am also prepping my co worker to take over my projects while I am gone. Honestly it isnt like I am doing a whole lot of work. I am fixing my tables and trying to find a limo to the airport for the honeymoon haha.

Just don't if you don't have to. Other than work, wedding planning is great!

On that note, enjoy Kanye.,

Yup. Same. I'm working 3 days and off Friday. I had a potential new volunteer ask if he could come in for his interview at 4pm Thursday and I wanted to laugh in his face. Sadly I had to say yes to him -___-

I think you should just tell him that he got the job! No interview required! I wouldn't be able to work tomorrow. It would go so badly. I feel bad today, I share an office with 2 others and they totally know I am doing squat.

I am working 3 days the week of my wedding just to wrap up lose in from the week before. Honestly, for the last 3-4 months I have been reminding people not to be trying to add things to my workload in October. It helps that this is my normal vacation month already. Last week they were trying to schedule a meeting the week of my wedding and I flat-out said I would not be attending because it would take too much time away from getting things done. My boss told me this morning about something he was adding to his schedule on 10/23 (the day before my wedding), and I said that's fine, but I won't be here to help you then or the day before so best of luck!

I'll probably make up an excuse to postpone his interview. We'll see. I just need to make it through 4pm check in today with my manager and I am checking out. I literally can't even.

I have no choice but to work the week of my wedding. We are training for our new CAD system so I will be doing that Mon-Wed.

3.5 more hours to go. I do get to take off 2 weeks though. And tomorrow I am off and I am finishing that beast of a fake cake.

On the plus side, my skin looks fabulous.

I still have quite some time to plan on my days off and could potentially have a different job so that being said if I'm still at my current job I will more than likely only be working two days the week of the wedding. My fiance will be taking off a bit more time because his job requires him to work over nights every weekend (which wedding weekend ain't gonna happen!) he will probably only work maybe one day the week of the wedding.

I have to work the week before my wedding with the exception of the Friday before. I was going to go back to work on the following Monday but I found a cabin for us to stay in for 3 nights after the wedding so at least we get that.

At my final fitting last week, my seamstress was like "Just come in to pick up the dress next week. You have all week off, right?" When I told her no and that I'm only taking Friday off, she literally screamed WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY?! I've never seen someone so horrified.

Uber, my advice to to turn your phone off. All the random people texting me stupid stuff makes me want to scream. One friend texted me to tell me she booked the last hotel room at our hotel for the wedding night. I do not care, you do not need to bother me with such things!! Ugh haha.

I will only be taking two days off before. Ha ha its one of the benefits of planning the wedding for a long time and living in the same area.
