Do Not Work the Week of Your Wedding

Dear God, I am only working 2 days this week but I wish I wasn't! I wanted to take the whole week off but I am already taking unpaid time for the honeymoon so I decided to work 2 days. Today has been so annoying. Clients needing stuff, Co workers needing stuff. Venue asking all kinds of questions....

Dear God, I am only working 2 days this week but I wish I wasn't! I wanted to take the whole week off but I am already taking unpaid time for the honeymoon so I decided to work 2 days. Today has been so annoying. Clients needing stuff, Co workers needing stuff. Venue asking all kinds of questions. MIL trying to find someone to bring grannie to the wedding. Just too much stuff. I am also prepping my co worker to take over my projects while I am gone. Honestly it isnt like I am doing a whole lot of work. I am fixing my tables and trying to find a limo to the airport for the honeymoon haha.

Just don't if you don't have to. Other than work, wedding planning is great!

On that note, enjoy Kanye.,

My office administrator put my two weeks down on the calendar months ago. FH put in for his 2 weeks vacation time already as well.

Yes, take as much time as you can. I originally planned to only take Friday off (wedding was on Sunday, 300 miles away). By the week of my wedding, I took more time so I only worked until Wednesday at noon. Still stressful, but so glad I had the extra day and a half!

I picked the date I could so that my work would be closed! It will be closed the week leading up to the wedding and for 2 weeks after the wedding! It will be much easier for many involved that work will be closed that week!

Hmm... I worked the whole week before my wedding. We took off only the day before the wedding. (The wedding itself was on a Tuesday.) We spent the day before the wedding getting a waiver of the three-day waiting period, getting the marriage license, picking up a friend from the airport, getting our nails done, getting checked in to the place we were staying, meeting with the rabbi, and having a dinner for our out-of-town guests (which was almost all our guests). I really can't imagine why we would have needed to take off more time than that.

I'm planning on taking off work starting the Monday of my wedding week. I'm not honeymooning right after the wedding but still people were surprised I only took ten days off total for the wedding. The wedding is out of town so will need to travel down and then pick up a lot of things. I'm still stressed about leaving work because we are already short staffed as it is. Coworkers are either having babies, have personal family problems, or just got hired and are still training.

I am working M and T and working from home Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday I plan to do laundry and clean as I work so that I get that out of the way! And thursday, any last minute stuff and then driving up to my out of town wedding in my parents hometown!

I have limited vaca time so I am only taking the Friday before off. This allows for a full week after the wedding for the honeymoon. Sadly 6 days uses up most of my vaca and planning has used most of the other days. Lol!

If you can manage it, I wouldn't work the week before the wedding at all. But that is not an option for most people, myself included. I originally took Thursday and Friday off this week, and a few weeks ago I requested Wednesday off as well and was denied as there was a large group that was supposed to be in training this week. That training got canceled, so I was informed this morning that I can have Wednesday off if I still wanted it. Ummm, yes! Even though I have almost everything done, there is still so much to do. I want to clean the house top to bottom so we have a nice clean house to come home to after the honeymoon. Plus my concentration is shot. I have my work done for today and I can't wait until 6:00 tomorrow so I can stop thinking about work and prep for the big day! I can't imagine having to work the whole week before your wedding, that would be so difficult.

I have off Wed-Tuesday, our wedding is Saturday. That way I have a day to get caught up on Wednesday before out of town guests coming into town and then I have a day at the end to relax and enjoy having time off and not worrying about running around.

I'm planning to work the Mon and half of Tues before my Friday wedding, but now I kind of regret that choice!

My wedding is on Saturday. I'm working tomorrow and Wednesday then off Thursday and Friday. My mom seems to think we won't have enough time to get everything done...

I am working tomorrow as well! I had to because I didn't have a lot of vacation time and I needed to wrap up some projects before I left. My boss is acting like the world will end while I am gone. The worst thing right now is annoying non-wedding requests from people. One friend asked if I can edit an essay for her this week (ummm no) and another asked if I could help with a grant he wants to apply for (also no). I really want an away message for my personal life that says leave me alone until after the wedding!!!

I am working my full-time job on Monday only on the week before the wedding, woohoo! Buttttt, I see clients in-home part-time (I'm a therapist) and I have sessions scheduled until Monday. Technically, I'm only off Thursday and Friday, eek!

Taking off 2 weeks - the week before and the week after. I'm sure we'll have a decent amount to do, but even if we don't, my anxiety level will be way too high to deal with it. FH will probably work through Wednesday as he gets a lot less PTO than me.
