Do people really toss out save the date magnets?

I can see a postcard getting potentially thrown out or lost but a magnet wouldn't. However I've seen many posts where guests want the info but don't want the item itself. In our families/friends circles, save the dates of any kind are a novelty. What has your experience been?

I tend to toss them. DH gives me a sad look and then remembers we now have holiday cards with the couple on them, or magnets more attuned to our own nerd.

I've seen it at my friends' houses but my sister in law has other people's but not ours! And yes, I noticed and yes I wonder why not

After the wedding, I would toss it.

My friend did a save the date magnet and we kept it. She had to postpone her wedding until next July due to COVID and when we got the new one we still kept it. It adds a nice touch on our fridge Smiley smile We chose to do save the date magnets and all my family and friends sent me pictures of how excited they are to have their magnet on the fridge. We might be doing the same thing again - sending a magnet if we have to postpone our wedding date due to COVID-19.

I usually keep the STD until the invitation arrives and if the STD is a magnet I use that to hold the invite, and if it’s not the STD gets chucked and I replace it with the invite

I keep the STD until the invitation comes and then I put the invitation in its place and get rid of the STD - magnet or not.
