I recently saw a social post where the photographer was denied a plate. He left the wedding and deleted all the photos!!

Totally understand about them needing to eat. Just trying to figure out if I should include them in the numbers or they already have something worked out with the venue. I’ll definitely ask them.

Right!! So i’ll definitely find out for sure. I don’t mind feeding them. I know I’d want a plate too.

Oh wow now that was wrong he is still supposed to still be professional. He will be getting sued too but I want to know this as well because I dont have this thing they call a vendors meal. I have to bring in my own carter the only that they provide is the place tables and chairs food warming station a kitchen. And a DJ that I have too pay for as well now I will offer something. But that is not right for the photographer to do that and was it even discussed. I'm mean we do have that option to or not right? I will talk to my photographer about this

Only one of our vendor contracts included a meal if they would be there for over 6 hours. (Which they will be). I felt so awful that I hadn't even thought about it, but immediately asked all of my other vendors if they would need meals and for how many people. The vendor meals at our venue are the same price as the child's menu, but they still get the same food as the other adults. If they're going to be there all day, they should get something to eat. Otherwise, they would have to leave your event to go get food? Then you won't have your photographer, DJ, etc. for however long.

A good employer will feed their employees. For example, my caterer feeds his employees at events with no extra charge to the client. I agree with others that you should double check, but it sounds to me like employees will be fed.

Yikes! That might have been a bit of an overreaction, but yes, it's a common courtesy that you feed your vendors. If you're paying them for their services, the least else you can do is feed them. Plus in most venues, they count toward your headcount. We provided meals for our officiant (and her husband), photographer, and DJ. I can see how in this particular photographer's case, he might have been especially peeved because the meal is probably the one break he would have gotten all night.
