Do Videographers really make a difference?

Hiii- I am torn if I should have a videographer or not. SO I am wondering, if you had a videographer or plan to have one: Was it worth it? Outside of being there on the wedding day what did the videographer do? Like if I hire one, what should I look for in the person or business? What should I...

If you don't have one, why?

I am also on the fence about this. My sisters recommend i get one but i personally don't feel compelled to have one. I much prefer photos, plus i know family will record. I just have heard some brides say they didn't get one and regretted it, so that's my concern. I like the idea of having one just for the ceremony. I would consider that if the cost is right.

I wanted one so so so bad but we just couldn't afford it. We were live streaming the wedding anyways and my uncle is good with tech so we asked him if he would mind making us one. So that's what we did. I will say that if you can afford it, I'd highly recommend one as they capture all the little special sounds and moments outside of pictures.

I don’t either. Have someone video the ceremony. Done.

We got one and I'm so glad we did.

We still watch it, we've been able to send clips to our families with moments specific to them, it's great.

If you can't afford a professional, call your local school and see if they have film students looking to get into the business.

Oohh that's a good idea, sending them clips, I might do the same. Wondering what you mean by moments specific to them? Did you send clips of them dancing or just of them doing a reading or speech on the day? Or when they are mentioned in a speech?

I mean all of those. A former coworker of mine is also a filmmaker, so she captured all of these moments
