Do you add the vegetarian option on the rsvp card?

Amy, on December 28, 2017 at 11:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 34

So I'm ordering the RSVP cards this weekend.. this is a stupid question but do you add the vegetarian option on the rsvp card? Or do I just add a line for people to list any food restrictions they might have?

We’re offering vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free as our dietary restriction options.

Could they just circle the option they want?

I will personally be adding the veg option and then having the guests put their initial next to which entree they would like

Since I'm only inviting 30 people I just called the vegan friend ahead of time. If it was a larger guest list I'd put it on the RSVP card same as the other entrees. (especially because it's $15 a head cheaper lol)

I would ask your venue what people normally do with that. Our vegetarian option was “silent” so it wasn’t on the menu. The servers just asked people at the tables if anyone had any dietary restrictions, and if so, they were served accordingly.

I left the vegetarian option off of our RSVP cards because there was only one guest who was vegetarian. I didn't feel like buying a $20 stamp for just 1 person 🤣

Please list it as an option so people know you have one. Otherwise how will people know, especially vegetarians?

As a vegetarian, I'd love to see it on the rsvp card so I don't feel like an inconvenience. But I think a dietary restrictions line would be OK too.

We included it on ours. Our vegetarian option is delicious we figured we would give everyone the option of ordering it if they wanted.

I'm just going to have a dietary restriction line on mine because it will be buffet style.

Yeah I don't see why you wouldn't include it if it is being offered as a real (vs. "silent") option and not something that would cost you more per order. I eat fish and meat occasionally but I order vegetarian meals all the time.

As a vegetarian I'd be happy to see a vegetarian option on the RSVP card.

Our caterer suggested not adding it as an option and just letting vegetarians add it as a dietary restriction but I plan on putting it on the rsvp since we have a good amount of vegetarians and there are people going who would choose a vegetarian option even though they aren't a vegetarian.

We put the two meal options and then a space for allergies/dietary restrictions for people to write in. It worked perfectly

We listed it as an option and also a line to add their allergies.

Please put it on there. Otherwise, how would people know it's an option?

I would add it because some people may prefer vegetarian even if they're not vegetarian all the time.
