Do you add the vegetarian option on the rsvp card?

So I'm ordering the RSVP cards this weekend.. this is a stupid question but do you add the vegetarian option on the rsvp card? Or do I just add a line for people to list any food restrictions they might have?

OP, if you are doing plates options where they pick their meal, I think it would make sense to have the vegetarian option listed on your card.

didn’t do this on my rsvp cards since we are serving a buffet. However, after my food tasting, the chef at my venue told me if they know of any dietary restrictions, they can make special plates for those people. If I didn’t already have all my invitations at that point, I would definitely have added a line about dietary restrictions on there.

We have 1 vegan invitee and 2 vegetarians. we are offering a chicken dish and fish. All 3 eat fish, so I'm not overly worried. I will find out what others have done in the past at our venue when we go to our tasting in 2 weeks. following just to see what others say

Do have to add, I had already gotten the one vegetarians meal choice taken care of months in advance and had that settled with the restaurant. So so many of our guests and family members had no idea how to fill out the rsvp card, so we got the majority of meal choices through calls/text; they did know we had a vegetarian option, and not a single person picked vegetarian option.

I'm really confused, a vegan who eats fish?! Smiley surprise I've never heard of such a thing. By definition they don't eat fish or any animal product, including honey. I've heard people call themselves vegetarian and eat fish, they're really pescetarians though, which makes it difficult for strict vegetarians like me that constantly have to clarify that we don't eat fish. If you're not 100% sure, I'd double check with them to make sure they're OK with fish. I realized at my tasting that my chef doesn't even know what vegan is when he called something vegan and then said it had pepper jack cheese lol.

Yea I know.. weird but I have already checked with all 3 and they are ok with the salmon option we are planning on serving. We are also offering some veggie options for appetizers too.

My DOC suggested not adding the vegetarian option on the card but adding on the bottom "please list any food allergies/restrictions you may have".

They would know it was an option because they are asked about dietary restrictions. However, I would include it because sometimes the option is literally a plate of vegetables. I would eat ahead of time if that’s all I was being served and I saw that on the options. Not saying that is what you are planning on doing, but it might be a nice heads up for your guest.

I am the only person in my friend group and in my family that is a vegetarian so I would be totally okay with the dietary restriction line. No use in printing it on the rsvp card if only one person will select that option

My RSVP card only asks to indicate the meat or vegetarian option. I have about 3 friends who are vegan and I’ll talk to them separately-2 of them are in the wedding party so they’re close in the process.
