Do you add vendors in for guest count?

FutureFuji, on May 29, 2016 at 7:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 29

I'm pretty sure you feed your vendors, am I right? Do you normally count them into the guest count for catering purposes?

Absolutely! Check with your venue because vendor meals are usually less expensive.

Yes (mine are 50%). Ask the banquet mgr/caterer. My contract says vendor count comes AFTER the guest minimum of 125.

Our venue did not count them against our guest count but we had to give them how many vendors to feed and the vendor meals were cheaper.

Yes! Most vendors expect it but some don't but just want a heads up so that they can prepare and bring their own meals. But please feed them and don't make them pack a meal.

Vendors meals should cost less because they should not include alcohol.

My venue has us give them a guest list and a separate vendor list. Check with your venue to see how they would like the vendor count Smiley smile

My venue didn't specify if vendors were counted as the final count, but for sure they will know because the vendors get vendor meals.

Yes you need to feed them (especially if it's in their contract)! Check with your caterer about vendor meals...ours were about $15 cheaper than our guest meals!

As others have said, yes, you count them and yes you feed them. Also, ask your venue what your vendor meal is. If you're having filet mignon, I think it's tacky to serve them a stale and boxed turkey sandwich.
