Do you change your mind constantly?

Rebecca, on September 18, 2018 at 11:05 AM

One minute, you're totally confident in your decisions. The next, you're questioning every wedding decision you've made so far. Are you innocent or guilty of constantly changing your mind? Next Question - Did you try on a dress that you know you can't afford?

The only decision we've finalized is the Venue, which I'm happy about. We've had to push back the date a little longer than we had originally planned, which is the only reason I've second guessed that decision haha. BUT the venue is perfect and I can't wait.

I can’t ever make decisions, so I do question them anytime I am finally able to decide on something! It’s so annoying.

At the beginning I was back and forth on whether to elope or not and whether to do my first choice date (October 10, 2018) or the date that gave us more time to plan (March 10, 2019). I picked not eloping and the shorter date.

Not really I tend to know what I want and stick with it.

Nope! I had a pretty clear vision of my wedding, so I haven't had to change plans much

No, I have done research and found these ones I like and that are in my budget.

I thought we were having just a small wedding "get together" type of thing. We weren't going for big and flashy. We were going with a backyard bbq, hey we're getting married come hang out kind of thing.

Now I've booked a venue and I'm trying to decide on DJ's, photographers, caterers. There's so many to choose from and the prices are all so different. How do you know you are choosing the right one? What if I spend all this money on a caterer and the food sucks? What if my pictures don't turn out? I'm definitely having a hard time deciding and constantly changing my mind.

So much for the small, easy, "bbq" type wedding...

What have I gotten myself into? Smiley xd

This is so me as well!! I'm always like "oh this will be a small thing, no big deal" and then it keeps getting bigger because I get so many ideas in my head!

Have you used the WeddingWire vendor search tool to help you find your vendors?! It's really helpful because you can view reviews/photos from newlywed couples!! I know when I'm nervous about booking or buying something, I always turn to the reviews for reassurance!!

I have! There was one photographer I was looking at, his reviews were 50/50. I went to a bridal show this past weekend and he was there. One other girl I talked to said her Sister had used him 6 months ago for her wedding and they still hadn't received any photos and could not get any answer from him. So that made it easy to cross him off the list.

I'm just overwhelmed I think. We went from having just a bbq get together to a full blown reception complete with djs, caterer, photographer. You know all the stuff. I need to just take it one day and one vendor at a time.

Actually, no and it surprises me. However, I also didn't allow myself to fall into that "trap" by paying deposits as soon as FH and I agreed on something. We don't like wasting money so there was a "no going back now" feeling. We're extremely happy with the choices we've made thus far.

Normally no but with this.. planning a wedding..I've be indecisive. For the most part I think its because I know what I want and what I'll settle for but I'm just not finding it yet. Nothing has quite clicked.

Oh no! I just typed this nice pretty long message and it didn't send because I forgot to type in the darn security words, blah!

I'll try re-typing what I just had written--see if I can shorten it any....

    Vision:

Ceremony (19-26 including kids) in nature; Reception (50-80)

Ceremony - with nature, our puppy as Ring Bearer (the picture is old, that's around the time we got him at 8 weeks, he will be 3 this coming Christmas but I just LOVE that photo.)

We originally wanted the reception to be outside so we could play outside games but I nor my FH want the stress of dealing with weather, so we've decided inside it is. Something rustic (cabin like or wood beams), or maybe industrial/rustic (industrial look but nice wood tables no linens needed).

Goal: Reception - fun, completely casual, games, like a big party with friends and family, not a whole lot of focus on us.

    My issue:

I can't get past linens. Not the colors, or length, or something like that but just linens in general. Since were such a casual couple I think every time I look at a venue and see linens it makes my brain think FANCY FANCY FANCY or makes me think my FH will be uncomfortable because food is served on a linen table in fancy plates and goblets. His family may be fancy, but my family, and us aren't. Were your typical pizza and beer type person that loves hiking, fishing, and chilling.

    Idea:

I think I can figure out a ceremony location, if I could take care of the reception. If I found a nice bar that wasn't too fancy, but didn't want antlers on the walls or huge stains on the carpet, I'd be good. Something with nice wood tables were you wouldn't need linens, but also had enough seating for sit-down, as we do have some family/friends with health issues that can't stay standing or sitting for too long. They need to get up and walk around. We also want to make sure there is some kind of room for dancing.

    Vendors:

None yet, right now I'm focusing on locations. Once I have that done or well booked/deposited, I'll be moving forward with everything else.

    P.S.

Steal my puppy?! You can't steal him, but I'd rent him...ha! joking...he would be so upset with me if I did that.
