Do you check in with each other before making a big purchase?

Do you check in with your fiancé(e) before making a big purchase and vice versa? Never, always or sometimes? Next Question: Do you ever creep through your fiance(e)'s phone? Back to the Beginning: Never, Always or Sometimes?

Yes. Always even though we still have seperate checking accounts ( and probably will continue to after we married because it just works better that way) with the exception of groceries and our individual bills ( car payment, insurance, gas, small fast food, cigarettes (for him) ,etc) we really don't buy or pay for anything without Checking in with each other

Always! It's super important to me to be open and honest about finances so there's no surprises. We're a team!

Depends on where the money is coming from. We have a joint account and our own separate accounts. If we're buying something with the joint account, we always talk to each other first. If we're using our individual account, we usually don't bother asking.

Most of the time we have a joint account and an individual account so depending on what the purchase is we check in

Always. He does more big purchases than I do, which for the most part is for him to do his job properly but he'll check in to see whether or not we would be ok if he spends it immediately or if he's able to wait a little bit.

Nope, we each make our own money and have our own accounts. We know what our limits are being on a strict budget.

Unless it's a gift, yes. Early on, he made some big purchases without me knowing and we ended up being short on money after that. We talked about it and it's been better since.

Definitely not right now. We are not married and we both have our own money. He usually makes a purchase then tells me about it later. However once we are married, it’s clear that will change.

Recently, yes. Being engaged we already see each other as a unit and our money is for both of us. Trying to get into the mindset from being only me to we!

Always! Before we moved in together, we discussed a threshold. Anything under that is fine, but once you hit that amount it needs to be discussed. Typically we discuss anything other than groceries or gifts for each other. That's just how we operate -- as a team.

Generally not, we have separate bank accounts and neither of us make large purchases. But, it's more of an unspoken rule in the relationship not to make a major purchase without at least consulting the other and discussing budget.

As of right now, we keep our money separate then split bills in half. Our wedding fund is both our savings but we still keep track of how much each person puts in.
