Do you ever take your engagement ring off? What are your "ring rules"? 💍

Has your new bling been a permanent fixture on your ring finger since the proposal? Or do you regularly remove your ring for your job or for certain activities? Do you abide by the "Six S Rules" and take your ring off when you sleep, shower, swim, sweat (workout), scrub (clean), or sauté (cook)!...

I only take mine off when I shower and do dishes. I went half a day without it on because I forgot to put it back on after showering....it was so unnerving. I knew where it was and that it was safe but I couldn’t function. I begged my fiancé bring it to me at work!

In beginning I didn't but due to the pandemic and working in my environment I'm afraid off with the latex gloves my ring and come Oct both rings may get caught up with removing gloves and hand washing they slip off 😭, therefore they are 🔐 in the safe. Really miss wearing them.

I do take mine off. Once we are married I might try to keep it on but I do enjoy giving my hand some fresh air every once and a while. I’ve been home so much with the pandemic I don’t wear it often in the house to be honest. I’ll wait for the wedding ring!

I take it off for work, because I work in a grocery store and I’m always moving product but I wear a silicon ring. I also take it off at home. If the rings comes off they always go back in the box or on a ring dish.

I take my ring off quite frequently. I do cook with it, but otherwise I definitely follow the rules! The day we got engaged I wore my ring to bed. I woke up and it wasn't on my hand... naturally I started to freak out! I quickly realized it was in the bed with me and I must have taken it off in the middle of the night (my guess is because i wasn't used to wearing it). From that day forward, I take it off to sleep. I don't wear it swimming, showering, cleaning or working out. I also take it off if I'm going to the beach or somewhere like an amusement park. I get it cleaned at my jewelers every few months too.

I barely wear my ring. I work as a machine operator at a food plant and we are not allowed to wear any jewelry besides 1 plain wedding band. So instead I wear one of those groove rings. They are silicone and are supposed to be so much safer than a metal band. I wear my silicone ring about 95% of the time and only wear my engagement ring when im off. And when I do wear my ring I wear it while swimming, washing dishes, showering, the gym, cooking and sleeping. But I do get my ring checked regularly at the jewelers. I should take better care of it, but I hardly ever get to wear it and when I do get to wear it I don't want to take it off.

I don’t wear mine at home most of the time. Some days I forget to put it on when I leave. I take it off when I workout, work in the yard, go hiking, etc.

I look forward to having a simple wedding band so it doesn’t get in the way as much and I can have something on my finger that I don’t worry about like the stone on my e-ring.

My fiancé has the “No Water” rule. It comes off for dishes 🍲, showers 🚿, swimming 🏊‍♀️, kayaking, etc. It’s been almost 2 years and I still take it off for all activities that involve water.

In a non-COVID world, I wear mine all the time. But being home 24/7 now, sometimes it just stays in my ring dish.

Before Covid, I follow the 6 S rules. I’ve stop wearing it because of the pandemic. Don’t want to keep taking it off to wash my hands. It’s now in the ring box and I would admire from time to time. Next time I wear it, hopefully it will be in October on my wedding day.

I take mine off when taking a shower or washing my hands mainly. I have ring tray/bowls at all my sinks at home that I place the ring in when I do so. I also take it off when eating messy food like ribs or tacos. With that I place my rings right next to my water glass so they are visible to me at all times. When cleaning I wear rubber gloves if I am using any harsh products.
The main thing is building a habit around when you take the ring off. Make yourself put it in the same place every time you take it off. If that is in the box, a bowl, the top right side of the sink/plate, or whatever be consistent to prevent forgetting it or the moment of panic when you think you lost it

My engagement ring is a plain band with my fiance's name and a heart on it, and then on the bottom, it has the date he proposed to me. The only time I take it off is when I am doing the dishes, taking a shower, or doing something that I know could either damage the ring or if I simply wish for it to stay nice longer. I know it's Sterling silver, but I would still rather not take any chances in the ring getting ruined.
I am the type of girl who does not need a fancy ring either. I would rather have a band vs a fancy engagement ring. I feel it's not all about the dresses, diamonds, shoes and all that. I think it's about two people who love each other and the thought that is put behind the actions that count the most when it comes to things like this.
    Good Luck ladies and congratulations.

My hands swell really bad at night, so I take my ring off before I go to bed. I also take it off when I exercise for the sake of the swelling.
