Do you ever take your engagement ring off? What are your "ring rules"? 💍

Has your new bling been a permanent fixture on your ring finger since the proposal? Or do you regularly remove your ring for your job or for certain activities? Do you abide by the "Six S Rules" and take your ring off when you sleep, shower, swim, sweat (workout), scrub (clean), or sauté (cook)!...

I agree! At first it felt so odd to have something so expensive on my at all times. I’m a chef so I really felt like I needed to take my ring off at work. I bought a simple, strong chain and wear my engagement ring around my neck when I have to take it off. It’s worked well for me!

I only take it off when I am cleaning the house, taking a shower, or doing any yard work. I don’t want to lose it anywhere.

As a powerlifter, I work out with a lot of metal bars. So I take it off then. I also take it off when I’m showering but that’s it 😊 I hate taking it off tbh.

I work for a jewelry brand! I see people come in all the time upset because they have wear on their rings. Your wear habits are important! It’s important to take it off when you’re showering or cleaning... doing exercise.. yoga or Pilates. Etc. Follow the six s rule! Your ring could come out of round, it could turn color, it could get little dings in it.

Can someone explain the Six S rule to me?

I take it off when I'm afraid it could be damaged: sleeping, working out, cleaning

Unfortunately, I'm also a little hard on my hands sometimes. I've had to stop wearing it a few days here and there because I end up getting a bruise.

I've only been wearing my ring mainly on the weekends since during the week I have to wear gloves for my job and I don't want anything happening to the ring. I also take it off to clean or any other times it could get chemicals on it. So I pretty much follow the six S's to keep my ring in good condition.

For me those 6 and when I'm at home, just in general. We live together, so we know we're in engaged

No "rules" - I take it off whenever we are boating, beach, hiking, showering, working out, baking, etc... anytime I don't want it to get damaged or it could interfere.

I take all my jewelry off to shower or if I will be doing something that could damage my rings, I will take them off. (scrubbing, moving furniture etc)

I take my ring off when I'm showering, cleaning, putting on lotion/moisturizer, sleeping, and cooking (if I'm working with messy foods). I get really hot when I sleep so my fingers swell really badly. I accidentally left my ring on once when I was sleeping, and my ring finger was in so much pain when I woke up haha.

I usually only take it off when I go to tiger gym or yoga. I leave it at home. I don’t have a good track record with jewelry and the gym. I did take it off for bed, but it freaks me out to not have it on my finger, so I stopped that. Lol

I never ever take mine off! I love it and my fiancé so much, it’s a reminder that he loves me, that this is actually happening to me! Jewelry stores will clean it for free so if it gets dirty, you’re doing good!! Don’t get me wrong, I constantly check to make sure it’s still there! Do you ever take your engagement ring off? What are your "ring rules"? 💍 1

My ring is a 1/2 size too big, and it’s not my permanent ring so I’m not going to waste money getting it resizes (if it even can) so it’s got a pretty big church of tape wrapped around the bottom of it xD. So I take my ring off any time my hands will be around water.

I follow the SIX S RULE okay more like the FIVE S RULE (I dont swim)...Our jeweler told me to keep my ring in its box when I shower you dont want soap residue inside the ring..I wear gloves to cook clean and wash dishes but I still take my ring off. At work I dont unless Im washing my hands or putting on lotion but I wear gloves at work too I just wear larger gloves so my ring has room to move

I follow one rule and that’s to never take my ring off in public. If I do take it off it’s at home and in the box for days when I’m home / cleaning or cooking etc.

I'm pretty close to the 6 S rule. I take mine off to sleep, shower, workout, and when I am doing dishes. Also, just got back from vacation and I took it off if we were doing any water excursions.

I only take my ring off to shower at home. If I'm doing a real clean I use gloves. At work it's my job to sweat so that's a no. It's never coming off in public. 😂
