Do you need to register

Lisa, on November 21, 2019 at 10:55 PM Posted in Registry 0 11
My fiance and I are older, over 40. We have too much stuff as it is. Do we need to register? We have all we need.

Thanks for any advice!

Nope you definitely don't. If you don't register, people may get you unwanted gifts so keep that in mind haha, but you should also just get money from people then

If you don’t want physical gifts, don’t register.

If you have a shower, you need to register. But if you already have too much stuff, you probably don't want a shower anyway, since the whole point of a shower is to "shower" you with physical gifts. In that case, just don't register, and people will likely give you money.

We are an older couple and didn’t register and people just gave money or gift cards.

If you're planning to have a bridal shower I would make a small registry for mostly upgrades (showers are for physical gifts).

But if you're not, then no reason to have a registry. Most people will gift cash in that case, which is never bad!

We are also older and on our second marriages.

We registered for a few small items at amazon and for amazon gift cards.

You can always skip a register (and skip the bridal shower). Most likely guests will just gift cash at that point.

FH said w don’t need to register, I say we do. He is 53 and I am 41.
I think there is Always a few things you need. Put those on, and add in charities or a honeymoon fund.

We are trying to figure the same...Second wedding, have too much stuff. A couple of ideas that have been given to me: Everyone brings you a bottle of there favorite wine to add to your collection (or start a collection), request a donation to your favorite non profit organization or just money towards a honeymoon or such.
