Do you really need a hashtag?

Kami, on July 18, 2016 at 3:36 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

What is a hashtag for and does it really help with stuff? If so what would be a good hashtag for my wedding? My last name is Farris and my fiancés is Rojas

You don't NEED a hash tag, it's just a fun thing to do if a lot of your guests use Instagram or use Facebook. If guests take pictures at your wedding and post them on these websites, they can use your hash tag and you will be able to find them easier. Try the WW hashtag generator!

We are not doing one, as most of our guests are not really Instagram kind of people. Also, we figured this would be a weird, digital-age trend that people would look back on years later and go, "why did we all think that was cool?!"

I had a hashtag and I really liked it. Unfortunately, I forgot to make any signs about it so nobody knew what it was. It was ok though, because people posted their photos on facebook and tagged me in them. I don't think I missed any from forgetting to share my hashtag.

You don't need one but I loved being able to see pictures posted from our day from our guests perspective. Plus the wait to get your professional photos seems like forever so it's nice to have some pics before your professional pictures are ready. We got back to the hotel and were able to see so many, it was nice to see after a long day that really goes by so quickly.

You don't need to use one. A lot of our family and friends use them when they post to social media so we thought if we created one it would be a way to see pictures they post easily also helps if we aren't friends or followers for some reason. All the pictures are in one place as long as they use the hashtag

I didn't do one. I didn't think I'd actually want to save all my friends terribly-over-saturated pics of my wedding... Just get a good photographer.

All you 'need' in this whole wedding process is an officiant, a license, and two people who want to get married. Hold onto that thought and you will save yourself a ton of money and stress.

Unless you think your guests will be Instagram-ing your wedding, nope, you don't need it. I doubt I'll use one, my guests are mostly older and not into that. Plus my fiance is Greek and there's no cute, short, easy to remember way to incorporate his last name into a hashtag.
