Do you really need someone to hold your dress while you pee?

Is it only some dresses, the majority? I just read about pee ready Spanx with a strategically placed hole...got a good laugh out of that one.

I can't even have a person in the next stall to me when I pee, I am so shy in bathrooms. I'll figure out a way to do it on my own...nobody will come with me. I have a strong bladder thankfully!

Hoping I can do it myself with my mermaid dress - yikes!

If it is a closestool, I think it is for one to pee by herself.

Im planning on a pretty form fitting mermaid gown- I haven't found it yet, but thats what my dream dress is and if I do get it I'll probably take reinforcement with me, try by myself at first and if it don't work out I'll call in for back up! I have had the same group of gfs for awhile and I peed infront of them before. It's no biggie at all to me. It's not like we stare at each other. I don't pee often, but after I had my son my bladder has become weaker and I get the strongest urgest and I literally can't hold it longer than 5 min anymore hence the reinforcement no matter what.

I found this a while back and am planning on using the idea.

Is anyone else completely disgusted by the thought of your dress touching all areas of a public toilet? I'm hoping I can scoop mine up and go by myself, and hopefully not have any of the dress touching the toilet.

@Silan check out the link above from @NatureGirl, it should solve that issue. Our wedding is at a private estate and I get to use the inside restroom but it is small (no handicap stall) so it will be interesting.

I ended up not peeing (but I had a second dress for the first dance and dinner so I just made sure to go in that before I changed back to my ballgown). I didn't have a corset back, I just had a zipper so my plan was that if I couldn't do it by myself, I was going to have the BM's just block the entire bathroom and I was going to strip. LOL.

@Sherry yes that's my plan if I can't hold it all up!! It's a great idea.

All these girls obviously did not have gfs in college lol I can't tell you how many times I've peed with 2-3 other girls in a one person bathroom at a party or bar! It's not a big deal. I think I'll be able to handle it myself but will probably take someone with me to make sure everything's all together

Thanks for the advice girls, I will definitely check out that link. I do not want anyone helping me pee but I'm wearing a ballgown dress and I have a small bladder. I'm thinking if I have someone help me take the petticoat off I can just hold up the rest of the fabric and then time the petticoats back on. I've also considered a second dress for the reception because my dress is also hot with all that fabric.

Ya know I have helped people at their weddings so no shame. But when it was my turn I was super happy to have a moment to myself. Seriously I walked out of one room with a sandwich and ate the sandwich while walking to the bathroom..someone carrying the dress...I walked into the stall and sat forward...which worked well but wiping was still tricky. But I was glad to have a few moments alone.

Sorry if this is obvious or TMI, but how do you pee with the garbage bag technique? If your legs are in 2 holes and the garbage bag is closed in the space between your legs? I never understood this...can someone please clarify lol

I have a ballgown and am also worried about using the restroom that day. I'm hoping to try not to drink too much fluids to avoid going at all that day, but since it will be August that may not be feasible or safe to do so we'll see about that. Worst case scenario I might just take the whole thing off and go comfortably. I'll only have to go once or twice probably and my dress has a zipper so it is probably easier and quicker to just take it off and put it back on. We have our own spacious bathroom in the bridal suite for me to do this.

It's just one hole that your legs go through. Think i'm going to try it.

Thank god for sisters Smiley smile I may have been able to do it alone but it was much easier to have her there holding the dress up. Rather a little immodesty than my dress in the toilet! Haha.

As others have said I have a notoriously small bladder and only had to go once! Must be the adrenaline or something.

I'm with annaksy...def happened ALL the time on drunken nights in college lol. Buddy system!

My maid of honor is my best friend of 20 years, she was like "well duh" when I told her she may need to assist me doing to the bathroom. Zero shame.

I miraculously didn't have to go until we got back to the hotel. My BFF came back to the room with me & I used the sitting backwards trick but really didn't need her there. I had a ball gown, corset back. No extra slip, though, probably bc I didn't need it & didn't buy it at DB...seems like they get very angry if you try and avoid buying the extra slip. It's not as huge a deal day/of as it seems during the planning stage
